Each VELUX Skylight System includes a venting or fixed skylight with a factory-installed, room-darkening, solar-powered shade in white. A pre-paired remote also comes with each unit. Each skylight is compatible with an available VELUX flashing kit that is sold separately. To qualify for the 10-year warranty, a VELUX flashing kit must be installed.

Depending on whether you are installing a new cut-in skylight or replacing an old one, the steps that need to be taken will vary. The average time to install a new skylight can range from 2 to 6 days, depending on the distance of the roof deck to the interior ceiling. Installation guides and specifications are available online.

There is a VELUX flashing kit that matches every skylight type and roof material. EDL flashing is for shingles, EDW is for tile, and EDM is for metal roofs. VELUX brand flashing is required for factory warranty coverage.

Yes. Electric and solar-powered models are UL-listed (UL file E82681). VELUX skylights are Class B fire-rated and meet ICBO code IAPMO UES #0199.

To ensure customers can take advantage of the 10-year installation warranty, all VELUX skylights must be installed with VELUX flashing and follow all installation instructions.
